Canopy Keeper
Privacy Policy
Canopy Keeper ("the app") is a plant-cultivation journal made by BlankTech Labs ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep it short because our data practices are simple: we collect what is needed to run the app, and nothing else.
What we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, if you choose it, a display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identity information those providers share (such as your email address and name).
- Your grow-tracking content. The plants, grows, environments, strains, journal entries, and feeding records you create in the app.
- Photos. Pictures you take or choose from your library to attach to plants, grows, environments, or journal entries. Camera and photo-library access is used only when you actively take or pick a photo.
- Push notification token. A device token used to deliver the plant-care reminders you enable.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to your private cloud account so you can restore it and use it across devices. Cloud data — including photos — is hosted by Supabase, stored under your account, protected in transit with HTTPS, and isolated per-user with row-level security. Only you can access your content; we do not browse it.
AI features
If you use the Keeper's Assistant or other AI features, the messages you type, the photos you submit, and relevant context about the plant you're asking about (such as strain, growth stage, and environment readings) are sent through our server to Google's Gemini API to generate a response. This happens only when you actively use an AI feature. We do not use your content to train AI models.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs.
- We never sell your personal information, and we never share it with third parties except the service providers named above (Supabase for hosting, Google for AI responses and push-notification delivery via Firebase Cloud Messaging), who process it only to provide the app's functionality.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under More → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your cloud account and all associated data, including uploaded photos. You can also request deletion by emailing us at the address below. Data stored locally on your device can be removed by deleting the app.
Age requirement
Canopy Keeper is intended for adults. You must be of legal age to cultivate cannabis in your jurisdiction — and in any case at least 21 years old where that is the applicable threshold — to use the app. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version at this address and update the effective date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
